Hey Terry!
I finished my senior wildwater international season last weekend.
I had a great time racing at the world championships in Switzerland on the first weekend of June and then I competed in Bosnia for World Cup 1 and 2 (June 9 & 10) and Slovenia for World Cups 3 and 4 (June 15 & 16). I ended up with an 18th place in the first two sprints (Switzerland and Bosnia) and a 16th in
Slovenia. And I progressively improved my classics with a 25th in Switzerland, 18th in Bosnia and 14th in Slovenia.
While I wasn’t happy with my results in
numbers I was absolutely stoked with my feeling on the water.
I had a lot of great first sprint runs with finals (top 12) looking like a possibility but
unfortunately I didn’t put it down for any of my second runs.
This season I worked really hard on my confidence on the whitewater and my fitness and I
definitely felt it.
So, for my third international season and my second world champs I’m super happy!
And I know every year I build and grow in my paddling.
And I ended my season with a little bit of fun and teamed up with Maddy Wilson in C2 and we won the silver medal! (It was out of two boats, we came dead last, but we had an absolute ball and I have a lot of new found respect for all the C2 paddlers who paddle on big
courses!)
