Matthew and Nicholas Greed have just returned from the 2018 Sprint Champs Oceania Championships / Grand Prix 2 in Penrith, NSW. They competed for AKC as U18's winning Silver 200m K2 in a field of 10. Matthew also won bronze in the 200m K1, with Nicholas 7th 1.2 seconds behind in a field of 27 sprinters. It was a very close final.

It was a full 3 days of racing with heats semis and finals in 200m, 500m K1 & K2 for both boys, plus 1000m K1 for Nicholas and 500m K4 for Matthew. There were some fast paddlers from SA & NSW and also a good representation from NZ,

There is no rest as this regatta was a warm up for the National Sprints in Penrith 6-10 March where the Australian reps for the Asia-Pacific team in Adelaide and Junior team racing in Bulgaria later this year. Selection for the team is tough with many fast U18 all over Aus. The boys are looking good for it and will be focusing over the next few weeks to gain the precious racing seconds.

They would like to thank Ascot Kayak Club for the support and Gold Sponsorship for Oceana Champs.
