It's going to be interesting to see how much coverage the marathon team will get in Hungary from Paddle Australia. I went through Paddle Australia's facebook page and although there are hundreds of articles (lots on slalom) I could only find one post about the Australian Marathon Championships in Perth. 
And although the marathon discipline page had a feast of photos it would have been nice to have a few more pics and an article on the Paddle Australia page so other not so interested people in marathon could at least have a better look and understanding of the marathon sport.

There wasn't much water but this course can still be tricky and it's not always the fastest flat water paddler that wins.

He won the open section of the Wild Water Race last weekend.

Little Corellas

Little Corellas are mostly white, with a fleshy blue eye-ring and a pale rose-pink patch between the eye and bill. In flight, a bright sulphur-yellow wash can be seen on the underwing and under tail. The sexes are similar in plumage, and young birds look like the adults, but are slightly smaller.

Location:            Lower Carpark, Bells Rapid Park

Race check in:   08:00am-08:45am

Briefing:              08:45am

Race Start:          09:15am

Course:            Starting below the Dogs Breakfast rapid, racing 17km downstream through the Bollands Elbow rapid, the lower Ti Trees and Amiens through to Middle Swan Reserve.
Competitors follow a winding river consisting of exposed rocks and Ti-trees with the added fun of a rapid and a strong current.

In the event of changes in river levels, competitors will be kept informed of any course changes.

Transport:        A car shuffle is required prior to Race Check In.

Due to the distance between the start and finish, your car shuffle must be completed prior to Race Check in at 08:00am.

Safety:             Due to the course being held in wild water conditions, it is compulsory for all paddlers to wear helmets and PFD’s. Each competitor should also have a whistle attached to their Lifejacket for emergency situations.

No helmet or no Lifejacket = NO RACE.
